SCATE Inc. is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation (FEIN 20-3942898) organized for educational purposes to improve the nation’s technological workforce. SCATE, Inc. provides educational and professional services, promotes best practices, consults with educators, collaborates with private and public entities, and conducts research to affect Systemic Change in Advanced Technological Education (SCATE).
SCATE Inc. professionals have extensive experience in K-16 education and industry and have dedicated the past 13 years specifically to leading innovations in advanced technological education. Nationwide clients of SCATE Inc. benefit from years of “know-how” coupled with nationally acclaimed products, successful models, and passionate commitment.
SCATE Inc. provides services in project evaluation, curriculum and curriculum product development, faculty development, grant proposal development, assessment of student learning, workplace research, internships, recruitment and retention, and high school outreach. SCATE Inc. also provides innovative curriculum products designed to meet the needs of diverse learners and improve retention in high school preparatory and first year college courses leading to industrial, engineering, and engineering technology degrees.
An independent study conducted by Western Michigan University in 2003 ranked the SC ATE ET Core curriculum 4.0 on a 0-4 scale for "its effectiveness in helping students learn the knowledge and skills and/or practices needed to be successful in the technical workplace"

SCATE Inc. promotes and disseminates successful models and products developed through the work of the South Carolina Advanced Technological Education (SC ATE) Center of Excellence, an initiative partially funded by the National Science Foundation and dedicated to increasing the quantity, quality, and diversity of highly skilled technicians to support economic development. The SC ATE Center of Excellence is now partially supported by SCATE Inc.
To date, SCATE Inc. clients include two- and four-year colleges, universities, and not-for-profit corporations in Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, and Wyoming. SCATE Inc. is affiliated with Florence-Darlington Technical College and the Southeastern Institute of Manufacturing and Technology in Florence, SC.
